Resort Location

Sanbis Resort is found on the beachfront on Mbambanga Island, a small island just a 7-minute’ boat ride from the well-known regional town of Gizo.  Once you have arrived at Honiara International Airport, most people take a regional flight to Gizo, although a scenic ferry ride is also available.  Solomon Islands is close to the equator so it experiences very stable weather, without significant seasonal changes and the water temperature sits within 28 – 29˚C all year round (approximately).

Things to Do

If you love the great outdoors, this place will be a dream.  Spend as much time as you like relaxing on one of the pristine local beaches, soaking up the warm sunshine and letting your worries disappear. If you’re in the mood to explore the underwater world, you can grab some gear and head out for a snorkel right in front of the resort and if you are a diver, there are some world-class diving sites to be found in the Gizo area.

Spend some time exploring the local area on a kayak or paddleboard, it’s surprising how many beautiful beaches and uninhabited islands are easy to reach.  If you’re looking for something even more adventurous, then have a go at the water skiing, knee boarding, parasailing or windsurfing.  Surfers will find a number of different breaks close by and the resort can give you some local tips on “no name” breaks that are scarcely known and not marked on any maps.  You can also hire a boat from the resort to get to any of the spots at your own convenience.

Sanbis has everything from snorkelling, diving, surfing, fishing or just relaxing away from crowds. With unspoiled beauty everywhere you look, helpful staff, incredible food and top-notch accommodation, it’s a must visit.
